What is Shave Ice?
Shave ice or Hawaiian shave ice is an ice-based dessert made by shaving a block of ice. While the product can resemble a snow cone, snow cones are made with crushed, rather than shaved, ice. This technique allows our delicious flavoring to stick to the ice and not sink to the bottom.

After a long day at the beach in Hawaiʻi, my favorite thing to do is enjoy a delicious and refreshing Hawaiian Style Shave Ice. Nothing else compares to the smooth snow like texture of ice and fresh flavors of Mango, Coconut, Guava and Vanilla Ice Cream all mixed together. My favorite is to add the snow cap on top (Hawaiian Sweet Cream). Living in Chicago, I'd always see Halo Halo, Piraguas, Raspados and Sno-Cones but never Hawaiian Shave Ice - So I created Kawika's Shave Ice. With several different flavor options, additions like adzuki bean, li hing mui powder and/or ice cream, the options are endless. I can't wait for you to try it!
